Jessica + Jason’s Traditional Destination Wedding, Casa Marina
Tradition can be so important in a wedding, and yet, when there’s room for something new, a bride and groom can absolutely transform it into a one-of-a-kind experience. This is just what Jessica and Jason accomplished with their traditional destination wedding at Casa Marina in Key West.
It began with a visit from the hair and makeup team at Studio Marie-Pierre. Jessica’s hair was exquisite, held up beautifully and able to endure a day in the ocean breeze. Her eyes were sparkling as she donned her veil in a perfect strapless dress. Floral arrangement was done by the extravagant Milan Event, presenting white orchids with pale pink and light coral roses.
Stacey Ambrosio arrived for photos, capturing some of the most precious moments of the day. She was complemented by Artistry Wedding Films who would be recording throughout. The family assembled for photos, as well as Jessica and Jason themselves who are captured in a fantastic First Look set.
The traditional wedding entered with the ketubah signing, a special Jewish rite that accompanies the marriage license that encompasses not only vows, but promises that Jessica and Jason were making that day. After a ride in the famous Conch Tour Train, guests arrived at Casa Marina and made their way to the West Beach. Over a hundred chairs were set up with kippas on hand for all and a beautiful chuppah awaiting the bride and groom by the oceanside with wedding florals arcing overhead. The scene was set for the perfect destination wedding in full Jewish fashion.
The night began with a cocktail reception on Flagler’s Patio with tiki torches burning and the acoustic talents of Chad Burtch in the background. Butlered hors d’oeuvres were enjoyed including watermelon drop with goat cheese, barbecue chicken empanadas, ceviche style cilantro lime tuna lollipop, and phyllo purses of pear and brie. Additionally, there was a fun seafood shack display with Key Lime marinated fish ceviche with cilantro, shrimp shooters and sushi rolls.
Dinner was set and served at tables adorned with tall centerpieces of white hydrangea, pale pink and peach roses and garden roses on fountain vases with hanging crystal and amaranthus, as well as arrangements in silver footed bowls with glass pillar holders, and silver mercury votives. Light was all around. And dinner itself included salads of all sorts, macaroni and cheese brulee with choices of lobster, bacon, scallion and more, and Brazilian sirloin with chimichurri and burgundy sauces, as well as pan seared Mahi Mahi.
The cake was another work of art from Cakes by Karol, a 3-tier delight of vanilla with chocolate buttercream filling on a base of chocolate with vanilla buttercream. Another six dozen mini desserts were also provided, key lime tarts, strawberry shortcake trifle and mini red velvet cupcakes.
At the end of the day it was tradition all the way, with a flare and design that was uniquely Jessica and Jason.
