Simple and Chic: Michelle & Cort’s Destination Wedding
Simplicity is no vice. In fact, the simplest of weddings can display some of the most striking design you could imagine. Take, for instance, Michelle and Cort’s wedding. This wedding is a monument to chic yet uncomplicated. A luxurious dress that looks as though it were woven from one elegant piece of fabric, sandals suited to the white beaches of Little Palm Island, a gleaming radiant diamond and a bouquet of pure white orchids were the basis for this shining occasion.
The happy couple enjoyed their destination wedding experience with a stay at Little Palm Island, a gem in its own right. With its secluded beaches and striking vista accessible only by ferry, it’s a must for anyone desiring a quiet Keys getaway in the lap of luxury. Some of our most brilliant weddings have been held there.
Michelle and Cort departed the island in the morning for Key West where, during the day, our vendors saw to their every need. Hair and makeup for Michelle and six others was done at Studio Marie Pierre. Florida Keys Transportation would see to it that they would return to Little Palm Island in comfort.
Meanwhile, back on Little Palm Island, Simply You was overseeing the final preparations for the ceremony and reception. Eight long tables and forty chairs were set up in a gorgeous open air deck. Grand centerpieces of white hydrangea and roses adorned the tables, along with small wooden boxes, mercury glass cups and jars and clear glass vases, as well as votives throughout. Milan Events never fails to create some of the most elegant arrangements we’ve ever seen. The earthy tones of the runners and the mahogany chairs meshed with the pavilion and the surrounding natural setting so well. Visualize Entertainment was putting final touches on lighting. Elsewhere, on the beach were forty chiavari chairs waiting to be filled before a stunning view of the ocean.
Key West Strings stood by to commence the ceremony as Cornelia from K&K Photography waited for Michelle and Cort’s grand appearance. Finally, they arrived to the sound of Canon in D as their friend Darren waited to begin at the head of the aisle. The whole scene was silver and white, as you can see in this photo by K&K Photography.
The celebration began with a cocktail hour including churrasco skewers with chimmichurri sauce, classic conch fritters with mango remoulade, and ahi tuna tartare in a sesame seed cone with avocado ceviche. Favorite local musician Rusty Lemmon played his acoustic charms on guitar as guests were seated for dinner. There was plenty to eat and drink as family and friends took in the simple pleasures of a banquet with this couple they loved so much.
There’s no doubt that when you look at these photos Michelle and Cort are truly happy. We couldn’t be happier to deliver the joy of a simple yet incredibly chic design for a couple that appreciates every flavor, every bloom in a bouquet, every glint on the ocean, and every smile on each other’s face. We wish nothing but luck and happiness in days ahead for Michelle and Cort.
